Naoko has been in the interior design industry for over 25 years. Since graduating from Purdue University in Interior Design, she joined the world renowned hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA). As a leading designer at HBA, she was essential to the success of many remarkable projects.

In 2012, she created NHDConcepts (NHDC) in order to devote more energy and attention to the details of each project. Having been raised in Japan and educated in the United States, Naoko brings a unique perspective to every project - with Japanese eye for the aesthetics of design and details, and Western appreciation for drama and scale. With her talents in sketching and hand drawing as well as modern innovations in design technology, she is a crucial link between the new and old in design today. Her dedication to projects guarantees success.

堀井直子は、アメリカ・インディアナ州立パデュー (Purdue)大学インテリアデザイン科を卒業後、1995年、ホスピタリティデザインで世界的に有名なハーシュ・アンド・べドナー・アソシエイツ(Hirsch Bedner Associates (HBA))に入社しました。HBAの中心メンバーとして数々のプロジェクトを成功させるなど、ホスピタリティデザイン業界で25年以上の経験を積んだ後、2012年に独立、NHDConcepts (NHDC)を設立しました。

堀井直子は、日本で育くんだ感性を研ぎ澄ませ、アメリカで研鑽したデザイン学をフルに活用する、その二つの融合によって各プロジェクトにおいて常にユニークな視点を提起することを心がけてきました。その結果、細部にわたって細やかで美しい日本の美学と、かつ西洋のドラマチックで大きなスケールのあるデザインを生み出すことができたのです。 生来の美術才能を活かした手描きによるスケッチを的確にすばやく描くことができ、一方で最先端のコンピューターデザイン技術を自在に操ることができる堀井直子は、「古きよき物を大切にし、新しい優れた技術を取り入れる」というデザインコンセプトに基づき、文化や世代差を埋めるだけでなく文化や世代の架け橋となることを心掛けてきました。このことが堀井直子がアジアを中心に世界中においてプロジェクトを成功させた理由です。

From England, Natalie has specialized in the Hospitality field of Interior Design working on Hotel, Restaurant & Spa Design projects for over 15 years internationally. Natalie prides herself in attention to details and loves to travel to expand her knowledge in design. Her technical experience encompasses all phases of interior design, from concept and space planning to FFE selections and specification of materials and interior finishes and contract documentation. She is able to work directly with other members of the design team in aspects of the project including concept design, space planning, presentation boards & client presentations.
